64 The View from a Sacred Mt. Ishizuchi, the Highest in Western Japan

Take in incredible views from the peak (altitude of 1,982 meters) of Mt. Ishizuchi, overlooking not only the Seto Inland Sea, but also Tosa Bay, Mt. Tsurugi in Tokushima, and the mountains of the Chugoku Region and Kyushu in the distance. Experience sunrise from the summit, a sea of clouds sprawling beneath your eyes, the Brocken specter, and other magical landscapes. Though it takes about three hours to climb Mt. Ishizuchi on the main route, climbers from all over Japan and abroad come to this mountain, one of the top 100 mountains in Japan and the highest in Western Japan.
