41 Left Unseen by Kobo Daishi! A Boat Journey to the Strange Rocks of Minokoshi Kigan Park
Located on Minokoshi Coast along Tatsukushi Bay is Japan’s first designated marine park, where strange boulders created from geological formations 15 million years ago dot the beautiful coast. Named Minokoshi (“left unseen”) because Kobo Daishi missed out on seeing this scenery, this coastline is difficult to get to even to this day, although it is now possible to get there on a glass-bottomed boat that started operating around 1955. Enjoy a sense of the extraordinary as you journey to the coast in this glass-bottomed boat, and then take a stroll on the pathways weaving through kigan (strangely shaped boulders) for an unforgettable experience.
