19 Views of Hiwasa Seen from Yakuo-ji Temple

Yakuo-ji Temple, the 23rd temple along the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, offers views of Hiwasa, a temple town that has flourished since antiquity and retains its old townscape of narrow alleyways called awae. From the promenade overlooking the temple town you can see the main temple of Yakuo-ji and a town woven with streets so narrow cars cannot pass. Go a bit further to take in views of Ohama Beach, famous as a sea turtle spawning ground.
