Designated as a national natural monument, Kamo-no-Okusu is a magnificent giant camphor tree spanning 52 meters east-to-west, 42 meters north-to-south, and 26 meters high, with breathtaking branches that stretch out evenly in all directions. Get up close to feel the power of this giant camphor, then admire its magnificence from the adjacent Okusu Park. Estimated at 1,000 years old, this camphor is still growing, and you can sense its powerful life force just by standing in its presence.
